Fog, Food and Broadway: Students Take on New York City

A group of 42 students recently returned from a whirlwind trip to New York City with stories to tell, shoes well worn, and suitcases noticeably heavier than when they left.

The visit included some of the city’s most famous landmarks, although Mother Nature decided to add her own dramatic flair. Students saw the Empire State Building… in fog, and the Statue of Liberty… also in fog. While the skyline refused to reveal itself properly, the mysterious mist only added to the adventure, turning famous views into scenes worthy of a movie trailer titled New York: The Cloudy Edition.

One of the standout moments of the trip was attending a Broadway show, giving students a taste of world-class theatre and a chance to see New York sparkle under stage lights instead of streetlights.

Between sightseeing and shows, the group embraced another key part of New York culture: food. Lots of it. From giant portions to endless snacks, the students quickly became experts in “just one more bite” and proved that sightseeing burns enough calories to justify dessert… twice.

Staff were full of praise for the students, who showed enthusiasm, excellent behaviour, and impressive stamina while navigating one of the busiest cities on the planet. Organising and supervising 42 students in New York was no small task, but teamwork and good humour ensured the trip ran smoothly from start to finish.

The journey provided unforgettable memories, cultural experiences, and a shared story that will be retold for years to come, especially the part about seeing two world-famous landmarks without actually seeing them at all.
