Post 16 results success

16th August 2018

Staff and students at De Warenne Academy were delighted to see their hard work rewarded on the recent Post 16 results day. The new qualifications meant that this year students have faced significantly different challenges to those from previous years and they have risen to the challenge, securing some very positive outcomes. Elliott Davis-Wilkinson, Maya Rawson and Katie Harris all secured a Distinction* plus two Distinctions, while Megan Clemitshaw and Owen Rave achieved three Distinctions across a range of disciplines.

Students have secured places on extremely competitive university courses, such as Paramedical Science, Nursing and Midwifery, Astrophysics and Computing. Their hard work in the classroom was accompanied by an enthusiasm for gaining work experience and building skills in extra-curricular activities.

Principal, Anna Rooney said “We are delighted with all our students’ achievements this year. They have been great role models for younger members of the Academy and I am sure they will all go on to experience further successes. This performance is well-deserved and represents all their hard work and commitment as well as the support given by staff and parents. We will miss them very much and wish them every future success”.
